Storm vs. Wings: Paige Bueckers tie Caitlin Clark’s WNBA Record as Dallas Wings Edge Out Short-handed Storm

Paige Bueckers tied Caitlin Clark’s WNBA record for the fastest player to reach 300 points and 100 assists.

Dallas Wings overcame the short-handed Seattle Storm 87-63 on Tuesday night to register their seventh victory of the regular season. Arike Ogunbowale scored 20 points and Paige Bueckers dropped 14 points for her 19th straight double-digit game. She completed 300 points of the WNBA career. It was Dallas’ third victory on the road and first win against the Storm after losing two games.

Seattle Storm played without their scoring leader, Skylar Diggins, who opted out from the game due to personal reasons. Luisa Geiselsoder also added 13 points for the Wings. Yueru contributed eight points and 10 rebounds. Dallas halted a four-game losing streak. Meanwhile, Storm dropped second game in the four-game homestand.

Dallas Wings Snap Four-Game Losing Streak, Takes Winning Start after All-Star Break

Dallas Wings were trailing by 10 points in the second quarter but they replied back with final eight points. Ogunbowale made her first four 3-point attempts, including one at the buzzer of the halftime. Storm’s bench players were outscored for the 10th straight game.

Dallas opened the third quarter with a 9-0 run to take a crucial 7-point lead. If we merge the points with late second quarter, Storm allowed Wings to score 17 straight points. With a 32-15 surge in the third, the Wings took complete control of the game. In the fourth quarter, Dallas outscored Seattle 21-12 to win seventh game of the season.

During the victory, Paige Bueckers also scored six assists to tie Caitlin Clark’s WNBA record for the fastest player to reach 300 points and 100 assists. Dallas outscored Seattle 53-27 in the second half and it was a one-way traffic. Nneka Ogwumike led Storm with 22 points. Gabby Williams dropped 14 points, six rebounds, eight assists and four steals. Ezi Magbegor added 12 points and nine rebounds.
