Stephen Curry shares his new all-time starting five, leaves out Lakers legend

Swati Bhatia

When it comes to assembling the perfect NBA starting five, few players can match the qualifications of Stephen Curry. As one of the greatest shooters of his generation, Curry’s opinions carry a heavyweight in any basketball debate. So, when the Golden State Warriors star revealed his all-time starting five during a recent conversation with Dude Perfect, fans were quick to notice one omission: Kobe Bryant.

It’s not the first time Curry has shared his all-time lineup. Last year, he included the Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant, as his shooting guard. But this time, Curry made a notable change, swapping Bryant out for LeBron James at the small forward position.

“Shaq at the center, Tim Duncan at the power forward, Bron at the three, MJ at the two and me at the one”, Curry said when asked who the best five-man NBA roster ever would include.

Another notable tweak was Curry’s decision to replace Magic Johnson with himself at point guard. Last year, Curry chose Magic in his all-time lineup. But this time around, Curry, who has transformed the game with his own unique skill set, has put himself on the all-time squad.

Curry’s updated all-time roster remains largely the same.

Michael Jordan remains at shooting guard, a position that almost no one in NBA history has dominated quite like MJ.

Tim Duncan and Shaquille O’Neal, staples of Curry’s previous lineup, maintain their spots as power forward and center, respectively.
