‘Where the Hell Are You Living?’ – Stephen A. Smith Blasts Nico Harrison Over Luka Doncic Comments

Nico Harrison held a press conference recently after the Dallas Mavericks crashed out of the Play-In tournament after a defeat against the Memphis Grizzlies last week. The Mavericks’ General Manager once again justified his decision to ship away Luka Doncic for a championship-winning defense. That kind of statement shocked fans and analysts alike.

Harrison mentioned that he underestimated the magnitude of love the fans had for Luka Doncic. Such a comment from someone who oversees the franchise’s day-to-day operations doesn’t sit well. And NBA Analyst Stephen A Smith has again torn Nico Harrison apart for such excuses from the press conference.

“He looked bad saying what he said yesterday. You underestimated, and you didn’t know how much to what degree, the fans loved Luka Doncic. You underestimated that. Where the hell are you living?” What are you talking about?”

It is indeed surprising that Nico Harrison was unaware of the following and the love that fans had for Docic. The Dallas Mavericks have always had a soft corner for international players. Dirk Nowitzki, after years of retirement is still loved as much as he was during his playing for the franchise. Mavericks fans also saw Doncic through the lens of a future legend.

“How could you utter those words out of your mouth, that means that you are in some cocoon somewhere. You don’t go outside, you don’t go to the game, which clearly is not true, because he’s always there. I’m saying, how, in God’s name, could you possibly say that? Talk about being clueless and completely removed from reality”, Stephen Smith further added.

Doncic Wants Nico Harrison To Stop

It is clear that the way Nico Harrison has been talking since Doncic’s departure is making the Slovenian international uncomfortable. In a recent interview with ESPN, Doncic suggested that it was just sad how the Mavericks’ General Manager has been talking about the trade and justifying it.

Nico Harrison has been constantly defending the trade deal and talking about ‘doing best for the Dallas Mavericks.’ However, the now Los Angeles Lakers star wants to move on and focus on his new chapter. He also wishes to keep the fans, his ex-teammates, at heart from his time at the Dallas Mavericks.

Despite trading for Center Anthony Davis with the mantra ‘Defense wins Championships,’ the Mavericks failed to escape the Play-In tournament this season, leaving fans questioning whether it was worth losing Luka Doncic at all.
