Inzaghi Opens Up on Inter’s UCL 2024/25 Season, Personal Aspirations, and Future Goals

Inter Milan and Simone Inzaghi will be in for one of the most crucial clash in their club history. Looking for their first Champions League trophy since the 2009/10 season. Inzaghi’s side after beating the favourites FC Barcelona in the final four of the contest.

Inzaghi will rely on Inter Milan’s skipper Lautaro Martinez to take them par as he returns from injury. With the side playing their second UCL finals in three years, the seasoned side will take on the young and hungry PSG side. The Italian manager ahead of the clash called his side to be prepared for the finals.

‘Best Possible Scenario’ – Simone Inzaghi On Inter Milan’s Fitness Scenario

Talking about the atmosphere around the squad and fitness details, Inzaghi called his squad ready for the UCL finals. Addressing the preparations and what he thinks of Inter Milan being considered as underdogs, Inzaghi in his pre-match press conference said:

“Every match is its own story, but we’ve tried to pay attention to every detail. All the players are available, and that gives us great confidence. Having the full squad ready is the best possible scenario, because these are the players we chose, and I’m proud to coach them.”

“I don’t know. What I can say is that this group has given everything over the years, winning a lot, losing sometimes, but always giving everything – which is exactly what the Club and fans have done. We’re proud to be playing this final.”

Talking on dreaming of occasions like these as a kid, Inzaghi in his conference continued,

“As a child, I dreamt of being involved in a match like this. I didn’t make it as a player – I only reached the quarter-finals – but, thanks to these players, I’m now ready to take part in my second final as a coach.”

Inter Milan lost 1-0 to Manchester City the last time around in the UCL 2022/23 season. Having a go at the European trophy, Inzaghi and Luis Enrique will both appear in their second UCL Finals on Saturday.

Inzaghi also mentioned the tactics PSG and Luis Enrique like to play with. Realising the possession game the French side likes to play, he spoke about having confidence in his team with the ball against PSG. Wanting to be tight at all times when the opposition is in possession, Inter Milan will have a constant threat on counters.

Our greatest desire is to bring immense joy to our fans. Yesterday, they were present at the training ground, and their unwavering support filled us with gratitude. We know that tomorrow, even if they’re not physically here, the entire Curva Nord will be on the pitch with us, united in our shared journey.
