Ottawa Senators Make NHL Hockeyverse Debut with Thrilling OT Win Over Rangers

Anamika Shrivastava

Ottawa rallies from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Rangers 4-3 in overtime, marking their first-ever appearance in the NHL Hockeyverse.

The Ottawa Senators stepped into the NHL Hockeyverse for the first time, as their March 8 showdown against the New York Rangers was featured in the latest Matchup of the Week.

Playing at home in the Canadian Tire Centre, the Senators pulled off a dramatic 4-3 overtime victory. Down 3-1 with just 10 minutes left in regulation, Ottawa stormed back with three unanswered goals to steal the win. Brady Tkachuk led the charge with two goals, including the OT game-winner, while Ridly Greig and Michael Amadio also found the back of the net. It was a special night for newcomers Dennis Gilbert and Dylan Cozens, with Cozens notching an assist in his Senators debut.

The NHL Hockeyverse is a fresh, animated take on hockey, transforming real games into fast-paced, 30-minute episodes aired on Sportsnet and NHL Network. Using NHL EDGE Positional Data, the series brings the game to life with realistic player avatars and dynamic action, narrated by teen commentators who add fun insights and behind-the-scenes stories.

The Senators’ Hockeyverse episode premiered on March 15, but fans who missed it can still catch the action-packed comeback in this exciting new format.

I’ve always loved writing and storytelling, and hockey gives me a perfect stage for endless stories to tell. Whether it’s breaking down a game, analyzing a big trade, or capturing the emotions on the ice, I bring the NHL to life through words. So what’s the best part you ask? Watching the action unfold and turning it into something fans can connect with. To my readers: Hockey is more than just a game—it’s the highs, the heartbreaks, and the moments that make us jump off our seats. So, keep cheering, keep debating, and never stop loving the madness of the sport!
