On Tuesday, 06/03, the Seattle Storm (3-4) will host the Dallas Wings (1-6) in a WNBA regular-season matchup. The Storm have slipped to the sixth position while the Wings are tied with the Connecticut Sun for the worst record in the league. Can the Wings fend off a much deeper Storm unit here? Where to Watch Seattle Storm vs Dallas Wings
Seattle Storm: Repeating same old mistakes
The Storm will come into this game after a disappointing 5-point loss (70-75) against the Las Vegas Aces despite a 20-point performance by Gabby Williams. It was their third straight loss, all coming in single digits.
The team has started slowly in the first quarter, and after digging a hole, they have tried to make fierce comebacks. That kind of approach has shown its limitations. The trio of Skylar Diggins, Williams, and Nneka Ogwumike has been solid, but all need to perform at a high level at the same time.
Center Ezi Magbebor hasn’t leaped and has rather receded, which has hurt the team in the absence of a viable fourth option. The team ranks last in both three-pointers made (6/gm) and free throws made (13). The mid-range is their calling card, but the team needs to expand their horizons.
Dallas Wings: Disappointing start considering the roster make-up
The Wings come into this game after another disappointing 11-point loss (83-94) against the Chicago Sky. They have lost two in a row, and this season looks like another disappointment. Paige Bueckers has helped bolster the offense, but her defense is a work in progress.
But the biggest disappointment has been Arike Ogunbowale. The trigger-happy guard’s production is down from 22.2 PPG to 17.3 PPG(36%). Apart from that, NaLyssa Smith has averaged just 9 PPG, and her output has decreased instead of increasing during the last two seasons.
DiJonai Carrington has been doing well, but her shooting percentage is down. Overall, their defense has been too shallow, and their defensive rating of 111.3 is the third worst in the league.
Wings Expected Starting Lineup

Injuries/Updates: Paige Bueckers will be OUT.
Storm Expected Starting Lineup

Key bench players: C: Dominique Malonga, SG: Zia Cooke, PG: Erica Wheeler.
Injuries/Updates: Katie Lou Samuelson is listed as OUT.
Seattle Storm vs Dallas Wings Total Over/Under Prediction- WNBA Best Bets
The Storm is a way better defensive squad than the Wings. They usually contain teams under 80, while the Wings conceded 85+ regularly. On the other hand, offensively, both teams have been pretty much in the same terrain, but I expect Seattle to do better here.
Overall, I see Seattle going “over” the points mark, and the overall total will probably just go “over” the mark.
Nneka Ogwumike Over O 20.5 points: The Storm forward is averaging a shade under 17 PPG. She has been held to 16 or below in the last three games. However, I see her exploding for a signature 20+ points outing here.
Maddy Siegrist O 5.5 rebounds: Siegrist is getting extended minutes due to Bueckers’ absence. She is a resilient rebounder and had 8 in the last game. I see her clinching at least 6 here.
Skylar Diggins to dish O 6.5 assists: The lefty Storm PG is averaging 6.6 APG but has dished 5 or fewer dimes in the last three games. I expect her to serve at least 7 helpers here, though.
Main pick: Points: Nneka Ogwumike Over 20.5 points at BetMGM
The Storm has been underwhelming during this week. They are much more talented than the 3-4 record suggests, even if they faced one of the toughest schedules. On the other hand, the Wings have been even more disappointed.
The Storm has the edge at multiple positions, and thus, the bookmakers’ projection of a -8.5 spread makes sense. I stand by the projection, too, and see an 8+ point win for Seattle.
Spread/Money Line Pick: Spread: Storm -8.5 for -110 at BetMGM
