The Seahawks set to host the 49ers as divisional rivals meet for the third time this season!
The NFL playoffs are truly underway with 5 of the 6 Wild Card round games already done and dusted. It has been an enthralling couple of days with close games, all living up to the hype of the postseason.
The Divisional round will now see the number one seed in the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks, take on the San Francisco 49ers for a place in the Conference Championship. The Seahawks not only have home-field advantage in a stadium that is one of the loudest, if not the loudest one in the league, but they have also had a full week’s worth of rest.
Seattle has played an exceptional brand of football, winning 7 consecutive games to end the regular season. But, the 49ers on the other side are playing top-notch football themselves, evident from their 23-19 win on the road against the defending champions, Philadelphia Eagles, in the Wild Card round.

Here are our early picks for the Divisional round game between the Seahawks and the 49ers.
If you’re looking for a complete guide to the best NFL betting sites, we’ve got you covered
In this Divisional round game, our early lean is that the Seattle Seahawks cover the (-7.5) point spread over the 49ers. There are several things going in favor of the Seahawks that give them a boost in the upcoming game.
First and foremost, as mentioned earlier, this game will be played at Lumen Field in Seattle and the crowd support for the Seahawks is one of the best in the league. The home-field conditions should make a significant difference on the field.
Secondly, injuries keep piling up for the 49ers. Starting tight end George Kittle suffered a torn Achilles in the Wild Card game against the Eagles, and he is the latest in a long line of key players to miss the remainder of the postseason. Other key players, such as Fred Warner and Ricky Pearsall, are questionable for the game.
These two teams met only recently in Week 18 of the regular season and the Seahawks went on to win that game 13-3. With more injury concerns as well as a strong defensive unit on the other side, it doesn’t seem like the 49ers can cover the spread.
Our early lean for this game is the Under for the total set at 45.5. We believe this game will be a tight one, but dominated by the defense of both teams. The upcoming Divisional round matchup will be the third meeting between these two teams, and each of the previous two games ended with a total score under 45.
In fact, the first game between these two sides was in Week 1 of the season, where the 49ers edged out the Seahawks 17-13. And as mentioned above, their second game ended 13-3. Looking at the two teams’ scoring defense, the Seahawks rank first in the league, allowing just 17.2 points per game, whereas the 49ers’ defense ranks 13th in the league, giving up just under 22 a game.
As for the early player prop, we feel Jaxon Smith-Njigba 6+ Receptions is a good bet, considering the amount of targets he gets each game. Smith-Njigba has had 52 targets in his last five games and has reeled in 37 receptions. Thus, the third-year receiver is averaging 7 receptions a game, including 15 catches in the two games he played against the 49ers this year.
Here are some of the key trends to monitor for the Seahawks’ Divisional Round game against the 49ers.
The Seahawks are well-rested and should be ready to get their postseason underway. Seattle has the best scoring defense in the league, giving up just 17.2 points a game, while, offensively, they are putting up above 28 a game. Furthermore, they have the added advantage of playing in front of their loud crowd at home.
On the other side, the 49ers are banged up and have been for the majority of the season. Despite that, the team has played exceptionally well to get to the Divisional round. However, with George Kittle also out for the season, it is another massive loss for San Fran.
Our prediction: Seattle Seahawks win
