While Errani has also dominated the mixed doubles circuit, Paolini is the World No. 8 in women’s singles. Coming into the WTA Finals, Errani/Paolini tasted success at the China Open in October.

Although they had to struggle to get there, Su-wei Hsieh and Jelena Ostapenko also picked up crucial points by defeating Wimbledon champs Kudermetova/Mertens in Riyadh. The team of ice and fire has competed in two Grand Slam finals in 2025 – at the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Currently ranked No. 8 and No. 6 in the world respectively, they are still searching for a maiden championship run as a pair this season. Meanwhile, the Latvian powerhouse won two titles with Erin Routliffe and Ellen Perez.

Paolini tasted a crushing defeat in the singles competition on Sunday, and will be keen on bouncing back to winning ways. The 29-year-old will play the role of the attacker, looking to ensure that her opponents are pushed to the baseline. While the more experienced stars like Hsieh and Errani will dictate play at the net, it will be the power game of Ostapenko and Paolini that will determine the outcome of this match.
Prediction: Errani/Paolini in three sets.
Errani/Paolini (4/6) are the favorites and Hsieh/Ostapenko (11/10) are the underdogs in the WTA Finals 2025 Group Stage battle. According to the implied probability on the money line, the Italians have a slight advantage of 58% in terms of the pre-match odds. Take a look (odds as per BetMGM):
