Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley extended his contract with the team this Tuesday.

The two-year extension comes with a salary of $41.2 million, making Barkley the first running back in NFL history to earn more than $20 million per year. Of that total, $36 million is fully guaranteed upon signing. Additionally, the running back can earn up to $15 million in various performance-based bonuses.

This massive contract is a well-deserved reward for Barkley’s outstanding season.

Saquon Barkley made an immediate impact upon joining the Philadelphia Eagles. Originally selected by the New York Giants in the 2018 NFL Draft, Barkley decided to leave during the 2024 offseason, opting for Philadelphia—a brilliant decision!

He delivered an incredible regular season, surpassing 2,000 rushing yards and scoring no fewer than 15 touchdowns.

His performances played a crucial role in the Eagles’ success, culminating in their ultimate triumph at Super Bowl LIX.
