The Spurs get some respite in France
The Spurs come into his game after a thumping 30-point win against the Indiana Pacers as Victor Wembanyama nabbed 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks. This was a much-needed win after a three-game losing streak. It was clear that Wemby was revved up in his birthplace and wanted to prove a point. This performance was due because he hasn’t been his usual on both ends this month. The Spurs are 3-6 in January and will use their latest win to get back to their winning ways. They need more from their forwards to get back in the Play-in tournament mix.
The Pacers are clicking
The Pacers come into this game after an uncharacteristic 30-point loss against the Spurs despite a 24-point output by Benedict Mathurin. The loss was understandable as they played in unfamiliar conditions against an amped-up Wemby. They have been in tremendous rhythm lately, boasting an impressive 8-2 record in January. Their defense has shown massive improvements while Tyrese Haliburton’s shooting inconsistencies have been brilliantly covered by Aaron Nembhard and Benedict Mathurin who form a strong backcourt alongside TJ McConnell. The guard depth and an imposing two-way frontline give the Pacers a terrific edge as we go deep in the season.

The Pacers face huge challenges as they were overwhelmed in Paris just a few days ago. However, they’d have adjusted to the conditions by now and will likely not repeat the defensive mistakes from the previous battle. Meanwhile, Wemby and his Spurs would be buoyed by their previous masterclass. Will they replicate it here? They managed to throw the odds in the dustbin in the previous instance, but I believe the Pacers will present a better challenge this time, paving the way for a close game. The total can be over 225 points but less than the last game.

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
