The Sacramento Kings and the New York Knicks have emerged as top favorites to sign former Denver Nuggets guard Russell Westbrook. According to Bovada, the Kings have the best odds (+150) to sign Westbrook while the Knicks have the second-best odds at +350. The odds appeared after the reports of the Kings showing interest in signing Westbrook surfaced on the internet. On the other hand, the Knicks are the second favorite in the scenario since they have made multiple changes in the offseason.

After they fired head coach Tom Thibodeau, the Knicks went on to hire former Kings coach Mike Brown as his replacement. In addition to it, the Knicks focused on upgrading their bench by signing players, including Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele. However, they still have space to accommodate one player, which they are expected to use for a veteran.

Sacramento Kings Expected to Move Players Like Devin Carter or Malik Monk for Westbrook

There have been reports that the Kings are expected to make a move in order to acquire Russell Westbrook. The Kings made several changes this year, like signing Dennis Schroder, Dario Saric, and Drew Eubanks, and are keenly interested in getting the nine-time NBA All-Star. For this, the Kings are expected to move a player, including Devin Carter or Malik Monk.

The Kings have a logjam at the guard position and very little financial flexibility to work with.” Notably, Monk has had a remarkable campaign with the Kings. In the recent past season, he dropped an average of 17.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 65 games. Carter, on the flip side, averaged 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game in the recent past season.
