Westbrook set a new record in Nugget's win on Tuesday.
It was a historic night for Denver Nuggets point guard Russell Westbrook, who created history in the team’s 122-110 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night. The 36-year-old NBA veteran became the first player ever to record 200 career triple-doubles in the league’s history.
Westbrook’s landmark achievement came in a typical all-around performance, as he finished with 10 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds.
The former MVP, who joined the Nuggets this season after a 2-year stint with the Los Angeles Clippers, is averaging 10.7 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game this season.
With 200 triple-doubles, Westbrook sits at the top of an elite list of players. In second place is NBA legend Oscar Robertson, who recorded 181 triple-doubles. Lakers legend Magic Johnson ranks third with 138. Westbrook’s teammate and Nuggets’ superstar Nikola Jokic follows with 136 triple-doubles, followed by LeBron James, who has 117 triple-doubles.
