Roger Federer has sparked fresh excitement around his storied rivalry with Rafael Nadal, revealing the idea of a possible “Fedal Tour.” Speaking during promotional rounds for the 2025 Laver Cup, the 20-time Grand Slam champion floated the prospect of an exhibition series featuring retired greats, headlined by himself and his longtime Spanish rival.

When asked by CNBC’s Andrew Ross Sorkin about the possibility of a senior tour, Federer, now 44, didn’t hesitate. “Why not? I love Rafa,” he said. “I played four hours of tennis the other day in LA—here in San Francisco, sorry—and then in LA also another hour and a half. So before that I’ve been playing a lot. I’ve been trying to keep in good shape. And I know that Rafa is totally open to maybe playing some tennis. It sounds terrible, seniors tennis, to us but maybe we can create a tour like a Fedal Tour or something like that. I mean, it would be cool.”

I could maybe look into that as well with Rafa for sure.”
