Rockets vs Warriors player stats and box score for Dec 11: Green makes late free throws as Houston ends 15-game losing streak against Warriors

Houston Rockets beat Warriors for the first time since February 2020.

Jalen Green produced two free throws in the dying phase of NBA Cup quarterfinal game to secure a Vegas ticket for the Rockets, who were trailing by six with about 1 minute left. Houston Rockets also halted a 15-game losing streak against the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors had control of the game during the 4th quarter but Stephen Curry missed a 3-pointer with 12 seconds left and later, the Warriors committed a foul through Kuminga which eventually set up winning free throws. The Warriors had another chance to win this game at the buzzer but Smith blocked Brandin Podziemski’s 3-point attempt.

Alperen Sengun was the top performer for the Rockets with 26 points and 11 rebounds while Jabari Smith Jr. had 15 points. The Rockets will take on Oklahoma City Thunder in the semifinals on Saturday.

For the Warriors, Jonathan Kuminga tallied 20 points and seven rebounds. Veteran guard, Stephen Curry added 19 points and Buddy Hield scored 15. Hield’s first three of the game helped him reach 2,000 made threes in his career and he becomes the 17th player to reach this milestone.
