The Indianapolis Colts (6-1) are atop the NFL’s scoring charts in 2025, driven by running back Jonathan Taylor and quarterback Daniel Jones. Taylor, a 2021 All-Pro, is again proving his elite status, leading the league with 697 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns through seven games. Jones, revitalized in Indy, complements Taylor with 1,790 passing yards and 10 touchdowns, fueling a dynamic offense averaging 33.1 points per game.

As the Colts host the Titans today and Taylor’s dominance has him chasing a rare feat that could cement his legacy among the NFL’s all-time greats.

Taylor’s Pursuit of the Triple Crown

Jonathan Taylor is on pace to achieve the running back Triple Crown- leading the NFL in carries, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns, a feat he accomplished in 2021 with 1,811 yards, 332 carries, and 18 TDs. Per PFF, he’s second in carries (131, one behind Christian McCaffrey), first in yards (697) and first in touchdowns (10).

If Taylor maintains this lead, he’d become the first running back since Jim Brown (1958, 1959) to win the Triple Crown twice, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Brown, a Hall of Famer with nine Pro Bowls, eight All-Pro nods, and three MVPs, set the standard Taylor now chases.

With 10 games left, Taylor needs to fend off McCaffrey and Josh Jacobs to secure the carries lead while maintaining his edge in yards and scores. The Colts’ offensive line, ranked third in run-blocking grade, gives him the platform to dominate.
