The Las Vegas Raiders host the Cleveland Browns for a Week 12 matchup. This Raiders vs Browns matchup features two struggling teams, that have minimal to no expectation for the postseason this year.
The Raiders are 2-8 for the season and has lost four-straight, winning only two games this season, with one on the road and one at their home. A lot of the blame for their struggles are going towards their QB1 Geno Smith, but there are deeper problems. Their offensive line is one of the worst, unable to buy their QB time to scan the field and make correct reads. Rookie RB Ashton Jeanty has struggled so far, putting up only 4 TDs on 554 yards. On 39 receptions this season, their TE Brock Bowers has managed to put up just 3 TDs on 455 yards, unable to have explosive games. Most of their problems are with the offense and something needs to change for them moving forward.
Similarly, the Cleveland Browns have struggled this season, especially with their QB position, as they still experimenting with who should be QB1. All season long, they’ve shuffled their QB1 with Joe Flacco (now traded to the Bengals), Dillon Gabriel, and now Shedeur Sanders, who will get his first start of the season. Similar to the Raiders, the Browns too have struggled on the offensive end, unable to win games. 2-8 for the season and their playoff hopes seems to be out of the window already.
| Recommended Bets | Fanduel | BetMGM |
|---|---|---|
| Geno Smith over 0.5 interceptions | -168 | -185 |
| Shedeur Sanders over 28.5 passing attempts | -106 | -115 |
| Quinshon Judkins anytime TD scorer | -105 | +110 |
Geno Smith to throw over 0.5 interceptions is a safe bet as he already at 13 interceptions for the season, throwing a pick in 8 of 10 games so far. Looking at the Browns stout defense, led by Myles Garrett, who’s having an incredible season, we expect Smith to make risky throw to get rid of the ball fast, leading to an interception or two.
Shedeur Sanders may go for over 28.5 attempts in his second game as we might see him try to take matters into his hands and prove himself. The Raiders rank 16th in pass defense and allow 214.2 yards on average, which we might see Shedeur and the Browns try to exploit. A lot of eyes will be on him, as he gets his first start and many will try to see if he fits all the hype and expectations that were place on him.
The Browns may go for a run heavy approach if Sanders struggles in his first start, relying on their RB Quinshon Judkins to make plays and potentially score. The Raiders are average in rushing defense, but take a big hit in their scoring defense ranking 21st. Looking at this and the sheer volume of rushing attempts he gets, Judkins may get a TD in this game.
We expect the Browns to take home the victory and pull off an upset. Even though Shedeur Sanders lost the first game he played in, a lot of us could see how bad he wanted to win the game. The Browns dropped a very winnable game against the Ravens last week, but we believe the result will be different this week. The Browns are 6th and 9th in their passing and rushing defense, which should be enough to contain the Raiders. And if Sanders can help them get one or two TDs, in this game, a win is very attainable.
Prediction: Browns win the game 20-14

mma I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
