Luis Enrique on PSG’s Road to the 2025 UCL Final and Facing Inter Milan
Luis Enrique will play his career’s second Champions League final as PSG faces Inter Milan in Munich. Beating Aston Villa in the semifinals, the Parisians are one step away from their first-ever UCL Trophy in history. After missing out in the UCL 2020 Finals against Bayern, the French side will appear in what is their second-ever appearance on the big stage.
Having won the trophy once with FC Barcelona in 2025, Enrique will possess the experience required for the contest against Inter Milan. Talking about how different teams have different approaches, Enrique mentioned Italian football and being a complete team.
"We are better than last year both on and off the ball."

Enrique will face Simone Inzaghi for the first time in their careers. Inter who played club friendlies with PSG in 2023 has got the better of PSG in the past two games.
Talking about his assessment of Inzaghi’s Inter Milan, Enrique in his pre-match press conference said:
“Every team does things differently and emphasises certain aspects of the game. We all know Inter’s competitive spirit, and we know Italian football. They are a very complete team that plays the ball well. And when they don’t have the ball, they defend very well.”
“Inter are a team with very clear leaders. We’re not going to change anything in the way we attack or defend, but we’ll have to adapt to the characteristics of each opponent.”
There will be several big matchups on the pitch as players like Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ousmane Dembele will look to stretch the pitch. However, with the presence of Alessandro Bastoni and Francesco Acerbi, Inter Milan could surprise many in Munich.
Enrique is one of the most conditioned active managers in the world of football right now. Talking about the PSG players being through tough games throughout the UCL 2024/25 campaign, the 55-year-old said:
“It has been a very difficult journey, with some high-level matches since the very beginning of the competition. We’re used to playing these kinds of matches, and I think that can be a strength for us. Now we’ll try to take to the pitch with our best weapons.
Reflecting on his journey from his last appearance in the UCL Finals, Enrique said he’s come a long way. Talking about the work he put in through the past decade Enrique said:
“I have ten more years of experience than I did when I was last involved in a Champions League final. I’ve been able to work hard over the years. I try to convey to my team the joy of playing in this final. I think we’re ready, just like Inter. We’ll do our best to play a good final and, of course, win it.”
Enrique currently holds a similar zeal to his squad compared to Neymar and Lionel Messi from Barcelona 2015. With Dembele in the form of his life and players like Kvaratskhelia and Desire Doue playing with freedom, Enrique might go as one of the best in PSG’s history in Munich.
