Poland have made a strong start in Group G with two wins in two matches over Malta and Finland without conceding a goal.
Poland return to international action in June with their sights firmly set on maintaining top spot in Group G of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. They begin the international window with a friendly home clash against Moldova on June 7. It’s a fixture filled with history as Moldova famously stunned Poland 3-2 in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier.
Poland will be without captain Robert Lewandowski for the upcoming international matches as the veteran striker has chosen to rest due to fatigue after a long season with Barcelona. He announced his decision in a social media post, saying he would skip the June training camp to recover.
Despite Lewandowski’s absence, manager Michal Probierz has named several key players in the squad, including Jan Bednarek and Piotr Zielinski. The match against Moldova will carry special meaning as veteran winger Kamil Grosicki will be officially honoured as he bids farewell to his international career.
