Philadelphia Eagles’ A.J. Brown Frustration Saga Continues Following Dull Offensive Display over the Packers on Monday Night Football!

Eagles' receiver A.J. Brown still not seeing enough of the ball

It is no secret by now that Philadelphia Eagles’ top wide receiver A.J. Brown has been unhappy with the lack of opportunities coming his way this season.

A few weeks ago, there were even reports of a meeting taking place between Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, and Brown himself to sort out the issues. Despite the player’s only meeting, Brown’s level of frustration seems to be on the rise.

A.J. Brown Jokes about Asking People to Remove Him from Fantasy Teams

The latest episode involving Brown and his discontent over the way the Eagles’ offense is being run was while he was talking with streamer JankyRondo on a Twitch stream recently. Brown’s overall frustration was apparent as he said, “It’s a s—show”, referring to his 2025-26 NFL season before proceeding to say, “If you got me on fantasy, get rid of me.”

Looking at Brown’s overall stats this year, it is crystal clear why he is feeling so disheartened. After 10 weeks of football, the former Titans’ receiver has just 31 receptions from 54 targets for 408 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. These numbers are all-time career lows for Brown, especially after arriving in Philly in 2022.

In the three seasons Brown has played for the Eagles prior to this season, the 3-time Pro Bowler has eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards, even in the 2024 season when he missed 4 games. He has also had 25 touchdown receptions in those 3 seasons.

The main issue at hand is the fact that Brown is not being targeted as much as he wishes to. He wants to contribute to the team’s success on offense and be more involved as a pass-catcher, whereas his current role does not fulfill those desires as per his liking.

Eagles Still the Top Team in the NFC

The irony of this situation is that even though Brown is not as involved in the offense as much as he wants, the Eagles are still one of the top teams in the NFC with a 7-2 record. But, for Brown, it is not just about the wins, but the manner in which the team is winning.

The star receiver feels that the offense is not doing enough, while it is the defense that is keeping the team afloat. This was exactly the same case on Monday Night Football last week as Philadelphia edged out Green Bay in a low-scoring 10-7 victory.

“I see that the offense is struggling and I want to help contribute,” Brown said while speaking to the media. “I didn’t get those opportunities. I’m going to have a problem with that, especially the player I am, especially the player you want me to be.”

The former second-round draft pick also explained that for him, it is not just about winning, but about the offense putting in better performances.

“It’s not that I don’t care about winning, all I care about is stats, no,” Brown continued. “It’s been week after week, sometimes we’re not contributing, we’re not doing our job on offense. You can’t just keep slapping a Band-Aid over that if you expect to win later in the year. You think you’re just going to go to it at the end of the year? It’s not going to happen.”

As Brown continues to speak out about the Eagles’ struggles on the offensive side of the ball, as well as his lack of opportunities, it could only be a matter of time until something or someone gives way.

One does not have to look too far back when the Eagles were steamrolling every opposition in the 2023 season with a 10-1 record at the end of Week 12, only to lose 5 of their next 6 games and crash out of the playoffs in the Wild Card round. Even though the reasons for that were altogether different, a disruption of harmony is never a good thing.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
