| Tyrese Maxey O 31.5 points | -114 | – |
Tyrese Maxey is the engine leading Sixers’ offense this NBA season. He is leading the Sixers with an average of 32.5 points through 20 games he has played this season. Maxey is shooting 47.0% from the field and 38.7% from the three-point range, and is the third-leading scorer in the league, just behind Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. In the most recent game, Maxey dropped 35 points on 50.0% shooting from the field and 44.4% shooting from the three-point range. In fact, before that, he came up with 44 points during the loss to the Atlanta Hawks.
Though he has had his fair share of low-scoring games, Maxey is in red-hot form overall. In the upcoming game, the Sixers have homecourt advantage as well, which makes Maxey scoring 32 points or more a safe bet.
The Philadelphia 76ers have had a disappointing campaign in the NBA 2024-25 season, marred by multiple injuries, including to star player Joel Embiid and Paul George. However, they have been on a different ride altogether in the current season. They kicked off the campaign with a four-game winning streak, and maintained their spot in the top half of the standings before injury woes creeped in again. George and Embiid have missed significant games this season as well but players such as Tyrese Maxey and rookie VJ Edgecombe have taken up responsibility for their side quite well.
The 76ers are scoring 118.3 on an average, with 46.2% from the field and 36.4% from beyond the arc. Their offensive rating of 115.1 has given them the 15th spot in the standings, similar to their defensive rating of 114.7. Apart from Maxey, Joel Embiid has been reliable, only until he doesn’t get injured.
On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors will be without Stephen Curry for yet another game. Apart from him, star forward Jimmy Butler has also been listed as questionable with a knee injury he suffered during the Oklahoma City Thunder. In fact, a total of six players are listed as questionable for the Dubs, who are already having a dismal campaign with 11 wins and 11 losses so far.
Talking about their stats, the Warriors average 114.4 points per game, the 22nd highest in the league. They are shooting 45.1 from the field and 36.2% from the three-point range. Moreover, they have the seventh worst offensive rating in the league at 112.9 but seventh best defensive rating at 112.2.
Though the Warriors are comparatively a stronger team than the Sixers, their injury woes and poor form make the hosts favorites to come on top on Thursday.
