The Rolex Paris Masters will take place at the Paris La Defense Arena from October 27 to November 2, 2025. Now, the event has long been a proving ground for tennis’s elite, with nine former world No. 1s claiming a combined 21 titles at the indoor hard-court event since 1986. Novak Djokovic leads the pack with a record seven trophies and nine finals, underscoring the G.O.A.T.’s dominance at the tournament and the strong correlation between Paris success and top-ranked players.

ATP No. 1 Club and the Paris Masters Significance

Medvedev, 29, enters this year in form after winning in Almaty, his first trophy in over two years. The Russian previously won Paris in 2020 with an extraordinary comeback against Alexander Zverev, taking nine of the final ten games after trailing 5-7, 3-4. Zverev, last year’s champion, will be defending his crown, adding intrigue to the 2025 edition.

Paris has also historically foreshadowed season-ending success. Andy Murray’s sole Paris Masters title in 2016 preceded a 24-match winning streak and a victory over Djokovic at the Nitto ATP Finals, sealing the ATP Year-End No. 1 honor.

Marat Safin’s early dominance in the 2000s, particularly during the carpet era, further demonstrates how conditions favor certain styles, from heavy-hitting baseliners to tactical all-court players. With Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz among the front-runners this year, the Rolex Paris Masters continues its legacy as a benchmark for elite players.
