Orlando Magic vs Detroit Pistons Preview

The Magic have lost their grip

The Magic come into this contest after a 22-point loss against the Portland Trail Blazers despite a 20-point performance by Franz Wagner. They are currently on a five-game losing streak and their fairy tale story has turned into disaster in January. Injuries have done a lot of damage to the ascending franchise. While Paolo Banchero returned earlier this month and Franz Wagner also got back recently, the team has lost its rhythm. Their backcourt has taken a huge hit after an injury to Jalen Suggs and they need him back desperately. Their three-point woes have held them back like last season as they have made a league-low 11.1 three-pointers per game on the league’s worst 30.3% shooting from deep.

The Pistons are up and up

The Pistons enter the contest after a 10-point win against the Atlanta Hawks as Cade Cunningham put on a 29-point masterclass. They have an 8-3 record in January and are improving each day on both ends of the floor. Cunningham has provided the major spark while the support of Jaden Ivey, Tim Hardaway Jr., Tobias Harris, and Malik Beasley can’t be emphasized enough. Their defense is enhanced by Jalen Duren, one of the most aggressive rebounders in the league. The mix of young and veteran talent has helped them become one of the most promising teams in the league.

Orlando Magic vs Detroit Pistons– Final Prediction and Additional Information

The Pistons have been terrific away from home and will fancy their chances against a struggling Magic squad. The backcourt of the Pistons gives them a clear-cut edge while the Magic’s low-scoring ways further play in their favor. The Pistons will probably win this battle here and the total will be probably below 215 points considering Magic’s offensive woes.

Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
