The Magic’s injuries are finally doing damage
The Magic enter the match after suffering a 27-point loss against the Boston Celtics despite a 23-point performance by Cole Anthony. This was their second straight 20+ points loss and they have now lost four of their last five games. While the Magic did a great job earlier in the season despite injuries to their key players Paolo Banchero(Now healthy) and Franz Wagner, the injury to Jalen Suggs was a nail in the coffin. Since his departure, their defense has taken a hit and they are also desperately missing a strong scoring guard rotation even if Anthony has picked up the slack. To sum up their offensive woes, the Magic are the worst long-range squad, making 11.3 shots on just 30.4%, by far the worst three-point percentage.
The Nuggets have found their mojo
The Nuggets enter this game after a 20-point win against the Miami Heat behind another triple-double by Nikola Jokic. They have now 9 out of their last 12 games and their offense has finally started to click. Jokic is having another MVP-like season whereas Russell Westbrook has finally found the perfect fit for him. Meanwhile, Michael Porter Jr., Jamal Murray, Christian Braun, and Aaron Gordon provide perfect scoring balance to the lineup. The Nuggets are deep on the scoring end and just about to do enough on defense to fend off their opponents.

The Magic had the best defense in the league but have lost their grip on that end because at some point, offensive struggles can quash the intensity on that end. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are offensive juggernauts with average but effective defense. The Magic risk losing another game at home and the Nuggets seem the favorite here. The score can go north of 220 but under 233 here. The Nuggets can win by 6+ points here.

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
