Orlando Magic vs Boston Celtics Injury Report, April 9, 2025- Big Update on Al Horford’s Availability

Garima Ranawat

Let's have a look at the injury reports of Orlando Magic and the Boston Celtics ahead of their match up on Wednesday.

The Orlando Magic are set to lock horns with the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, April 9, at Kia Center in Orlando. The Hawks, seeded seventh in the East with a 39-40 tally, are on a three-game winning streak. In their previous fixture, they took down the Atlanta Hawks 119-112. Having clinched the play-in spot, the Magic are in remarkable form, and handed a significant loss to the Los Angeles Lakers a few matches ago.

On the other hand, the Boston Celtics, seeded second in the East with a 59-20 tally, recorded a 119-117 win over the New York Knicks in their last match. They will enter the upcoming game on the back of a three-game winning streak, and will aim to extend it to four before playing their last two regular season games against the Hornets.

The Celtics have displayed dominance throughout the season, and they are set to enter the 2025 playoffs for the eleventh consecutive season, maintaining the longest streak in the NBA. Moreover, they are 33-7 on the road, and a win over the Magic will lead them to match the best regular season record in NBA history at 34-7, set by the Golden State Warriors in 2016.

As the Magic are set to host the Celtics host the Magic on Wednesday, April 9, here is the injury report for both the teams-

Orlando Magic Injuries

Jalen Suggs- Out (Knee)

Mortiz Wagner- Out (Knee)

Both Suggs and Wagner are out of the season with their knee injuries. Suggs sustained the injury on January 25 against the Detroit Pistons. It was earlier diagnosed to be a sore knee, then a left quad contusion. However, Suggs later said that he felt discomfort after a workout prior to the game with Cleveland. He then underwent an arthroscopic surgery to remove a cartilage fragment in his left knee, and was ruled out of the entire regular and postseason.

On the other hand, Wagner underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his left knee in December 2024 and was sidelined for the rest of the 2024-25 season.

Boston Celtics Injuries

Al Horford- Questionable (Knee)

The Boston Celtics veteran Al Horford, who was out of action during the Knicks game with a knee sprain is listed as questionable for the clash against the Magic. Horford has played a significant role in Boston’s rotation, and appeared in 59 games this season. He is averaging 8.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in nearly 28 minutes per match.
