A battle for ages

The Magic and the Hawks had some great battles throughout the season. If we exclude the Regular Season finale, the Magic had a 2-1 season series lead. They limited the Hawks to 112 or below in all those games, six points below the team’s season average. It is indicative of the Magic defense and they will finish the season as the best defensive unit, restricting teams to only 105.7 PPG.

However, the Magic has faced a lot of issues on the offensive end. They accumulated just 105.4 PPG(3rd worst), but showed some improvements at the tail end of the season, putting up 110.5 PPG(7th worst), in the last 15 games. On the other hand, the Hawks maintained a 120+ PPG(3rd) in the same period, indicating their offensive prowess.

However, they were exposed on the defensive end throughout the season. They onceded 119.5 PPG(3rd worst) during the Regular Season, one of the main reasons why they were relegated to the Play-in tournament. Thus, we are going to see a battle between an offensive-minded and a defensive-oriented team.

Orlando usually struggles to get past 110, but the Hawks’ lax defense will provide them ample opportunities to reach the mark. Sure, the intensity will rise, which can curb the scoring, but I see the total going north of 220.

Franz Wagner to score over 25.5 points: . The Magic’s high-scoring Wing accumulated 24 PPG during the season. Wagner put up 28 PPG in three games against the Hawks, including a 37-point masterpiece. I believe he will touch the mark here.

Atlanta Hawks Player Props Predictions – Projected Top Bets & Odds

Trae Young to be held under 23.5 points: The Hawks guard scored 24.2 PPG during the Regular Season. Young put on a show against Orlando with 28.3 PPG, but I believe the Magic will shut him down below 23 here.

Dyson Daniels to notch over 3.5 steals: The Hawks clamp-down guard stacked 3 steals per game this season and crossed that mark twice against Magic this season. I believe he will do the same here.

Orlando Magic vs Atlanta Hawks Match Prediction

The Hawks have an overwhelming backcourt advantage against arguably the most thinned-down guard rotation in the league. However, the forward duo of Wagner and Banchero gives them a terrific edge. Meanwhile, Okongwu brings a slight match-up prowess on the offensive and rebounding end against Carter Jr.

But it is the defensive edge where the Magic can triumph over the Hawks. In a slowed-down postseason environment, they can pin down Young and co, while getting the most out of their two reliable scoring options. I see a close game, though, and Magic may not win by more than 6.
