During the game night, he ended up recording 21 points, while the Thunder went on to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 120-111.

Denver Nuggets point guard Russell Westbrook had a historic night six years ago, when he scripted NBA history. Westbrook, who was a part of the Oklahoma City Thunder at that time, put himself in the record books as he extended his record and came up with 11th straight triple-double.

He achieved the feat on Feb. 14, 2019, where the Thunder recorded a 131-122 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. During the game, Westbrook finished with 44 points,14 rebounds and 11 assists, marking his 11th straight triple-double.

Earlier, Westbrook broke a long-standing record as he came up with his 10th triple double. As his side registered a 120-111 win over the Portland Trail Blazers, Westbrook ended up with 21 points and added 14 rebounds and 11 assists. As soon as Westbrook recorded his 10th triple double, he broke the record of nine consecutive triple-doubles that he had tied with Wilt Chamberlain, who had recorded nine straight triple doubles in 1968.

The game also saw Westbrook’s teammate Paul George setting up another record. He finished with 47 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, which marked his first triple-double since 2013-14.

Russell Westbrook has the most career-triple doubles in NBA

Westbrook, who missed seven straight games with a hamstring injury, also has the most career triple-doubles in NBA history with 202.

He has been holding the league record since May 10, 2021, when he recorded his 182nd triple-double and broke the record of Oscar Robertson’s record since 1974. He was with the Washington Wizards at that time, and the game was against the Atlanta Hawks.

Apart from Westbrook and Robertson, only four players have more than 100 career triple-doubles in the regular season.

They are Nikola Jokic, Magic Johnson, LeBron James and Jason Kidd.
