Crystal Palace went into the history books after defeating Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup 2025 Final. In what will go down as the greatest day in the memory of the Eagles, their manager, Oliver Glasner, seemed emotional on achieving the milestone. The Austrian who took over in 2024 has made a significant impact on the players and atmosphere since his arrival.

In what was a tussle of defence for Crystal Palace in the final, Glasner’s squad pulled up with their blocking boots. Moreover, Glasner warning Guardiola about having his system cracked in April said: “If we meet again, you can’t play in this system because we will solve it.”

It is safe to say a month later, Glasner not only solved Guardiola’s system but also managed to clinch a title from under his nose. Defending for most of the game, Glasner managed to keep his team in discipline as they saw the one-goal lead out leading them to the FA Cup trophy.

“We Wrote a Big Chapter “ – Oliver Glasner to Crystal Palace Fans After FA Cup Victory

Crystal Palace lifted their first-ever major trophy since their establishment in 1905. Glasner has managed to bring glory to South London just months into his job. The manager was left in tears after the triumph as he thanked the Eagles.

Speaking to the media afterwards, the proud manager said:

“It’s massive what everyone did for the club, and this is the special motivation. We wanted to write history – and I think now in club history.”

“Next year, we will start to write a new chapter with our first time playing in the Europa League – and let’s see, because this year two English teams are playing in the final – what’s what I’m waiting for”

Reflecting on the milestone, Glasner took time to thank everyone who was involved in the special group. Talking about what it means to the region and its club fans, Glasner continued:

“The biggest success we could have was to give tens of thousands of our fans, of South London, a moment for their lifetimes. We can give them great times. We give them hours and days when they just feel happy and are celebrating.

“I think this is the biggest achievement that sportsmen can do, and we did it for the fans, we did it for many, many people, and that’s why I think everybody who contributed to this success deserves to be proud of the group and the whole club”

The fans around South London and globally will remember this feeling for a long time. Especially the ones who have been waiting for this moment for decades would like to store the scenes in their minds.
