Djokovic finished 3rd in the 2024 edition of the event.
After suffering brutal defeats in the semifinal stage, Novak Djokovic and Taylor Fritz will look to end on a high note in Riyadh. The two inter-generational superstars will face off in the third-place match of the 2025 Six Kings Slam on Saturday. While the 24-time Grand Slam champion has dominated this rivalry over the years, his American counterpart is enjoying a titanic season so far. Today, we will dive into the preview, predictions and betting odds for this marquee clash (via BetMGM).
For two seasons in a row, Novak Djokovic has failed to get past the semifinal stage at the Six Kings Slam. Nonetheless, the 38-year-old performed exceedingly well in the semifinals, and also displayed a remarkably high level across the 2025 campaign. Djokovic reached the final four at all the majors, and captured his 100th career title at the Geneva Open. He was also the runner-up in Miami and semifinalist in Shanghai. Boasting a career success rate of 82% and a win-loss record of 35-11 this year, the World No. 5 will start this match as the favorite.
“I’m sorry you couldn’t see a longer match today. It’s his fault, not my fault. … It felt like a runaway train. He was smacking the ball from all corners. I was just trying to hang in there.”

After blowing cold in the first three months of the campaign, Taylor Fritz regained lost touch at the Miami Open. He went through another patch during the clay court swing, but bounced back with two championship runs on grass. Currently ranked No. 4 in the world, the 6’5” American reached his maiden Wimbledon semifinal too. The 2024 US Open runner-up completed his North American hard court phase with two semifinals, and followed it up with a monumental outing at the 2025 Laver Cup. Having recently reached the final in Tokyo, Fritz comes into this match with 50 YTD match wins.

Novak Djokovic has a head-to-head record of 11-0 against Taylor Fritz.
The Serbian has completely outplayed Fritz throughout this rivalry. While the 27-year-old has come close on several occasions, he has not been able to crack the code and notch a victory. In their most recent battle, Djokovic earned a four-set win over Fritz in the 2025 US Open quarterfinals.

Taylor Fritz was particularly strong in cross-court exchanges against Zverev and Alcaraz. While his defensive abilities hurt him in the semifinal, the American could pose a threat to Djokovic on Saturday. The 38-year-old seemed to take very long to settle into a rhythm, and couldn’t exert his dominance whatsoever. If he fails to land his spots on the first serve, Fritz could challenge the Serb with his heavy-hitting groundstrokes. The backhand wing of both players has been solid in recent times, and could determine how the match unfolds.
Prediction: Taylor Fritz in three sets.
