Who Is Coaching Novak Djokovic for the 2025 US Open Semifinals?

Inside Novak Djokovic’s coaching team ahead of US Open 2025 semifinal

Novak Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam champion, stands just two wins away from a record-breaking 25th major title at the US Open 2025. The Serbian legend, now 38, faces Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals, a clash of generations where Djokovic holds a 5-3 head-to-head edge. A win would set up another blockbuster against either Jannik Sinner or Felix Auger-Aliassime, but age, fitness, and form have been looming questions this season. Despite those concerns, Djokovic captured his 100th career title earlier this year in Geneva and recently surpassed Roger Federer’s Grand Slam match-win record. Behind this push is a fresh coaching team that has helped recalibrate the four-time US Open champion for another deep run at Flushing Meadows.

Who Is the Coach of Novak Djokovic?

Djokovic is currently working with Boris Bosnjakovic and Dusan Vemic. They came after a six-month coaching stint of Andy Murray. Vemic, a former doubles world No. 31 and current Serbian Billie Jean King Cup captain, has previously worked with Djokovic alongside long-time mentor Marian Vajda. Bosnjakovic, also a former player, has experience coaching several Serbian professionals and now serves as Djokovic’s assistant coach and analyst.

Djokovic himself explained the setup earlier this year: “Dusan Vemic, who is actually [the Serbian Billie Jean King] Cup captain — but he was part of my coaching team years ago with Marian — he’s here, so he’s going to be here with me in Geneva and Roland Garros. And Boris Bosnjakovic, who is my assistant coach and analyst as well, so they’re both going to kind of share that role for the next couple tournaments and then we’ll see.”

While neither boasts the resume of Djokovic’s past coaching giants, their presence represents a pragmatic shift. Experienced Serbian allies are trusted to provide stability as the veteran navigates the twilight of his career.

Other Coaching Entourage of Novak Djokovic

Beyond his head coaches, Djokovic’s wider support staff continues to play a pivotal role. His longtime physiotherapist, Miljan Amanovic, remains integral to keeping his body competition-ready, while manager Edoardo Artaldi oversees scheduling and commercial commitments. Spaniard Carlos Gomez-Herrera, a former ATP player and close friend, serves as Djokovic’s primary hitting partner.

Djokovic’s adaptability is commendable, as he has consistently sought input to refine his game, manage his body, and evolve tactically. As he chases history in New York, the balance between his new coaching duo and a seasoned entourage could be the decisive factor in whether he captures his record-breaking 25th Grand Slam.

My journey into sports media began far from the field, rooted in the arts and sciences. Funny enough, I didn’t grow up a sports fan; I used to see it all as just noise. But a fateful writing job introduced me to the world of sports, and what began as a gig quickly became a passion. I understood those voices aren’t noise; they’re emotions of true sports fans, and now I am one of them, writing with the same energy I once questioned.
