Norway Men’s Football Fixture: What Are the Upcoming Games for Norway National Football Team?

Abhinav Goel

Despite producing talented players over the years, Norway has consistently fallen short in the qualification campaigns.

The Norway men’s national football team is preparing for a series of crucial fixtures in their quest to secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It has been over two decades since Norway last played on the biggest stage in international football, with their last FIFA World Cup appearance dating back to 1998 in France. During that tournament, current head coach Ståle Solbakken was part of the Norwegian squad, witnessing firsthand what it meant to compete at the highest level. Norway managed to progress from the group stage before being eliminated in the Round of 16, marking their best-ever World Cup run.

Since then, the Scandinavian nation has struggled to qualify for major international tournaments. Despite producing talented players over the years, including Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard in recent times, Norway has consistently fallen short in the qualification campaigns. As they prepare for upcoming qualification matches, the pressure is on for Solbakken and his squad to break the cycle and bring Norwegian football back in the spotlight.

Competing in World Cup Qualifiers Group I, Norway will face Moldova, Israel, Estonia, and the team that does not advance from Nations League quarter-final 4 (Germany or Italy). The teams will play against each other home-and-away in a round-robin format from March to November 2025. Erling Haaland played all 6 matches in the group stage of the Nations League B, scoring 7 goals and providing 1 assist. Norway finished first in the standings, earning promotion to Division A of the tournament.
