NFL Week 6 Power Rankings – Buccaneers Climb to the Summit, Eagles and Bills Relinquish Top Spots, and Bears, Panthers, and Giants See Big Leap Ahead of Week 7

Devavrat Kulkarni

Tampa Bay goes to the top of the power rankings after week 6!

What an exciting week 6 of the 2025-26 NFL season we just witnessed. It was another week of some surprises, some expected results, and dreadful injury news as we take a look at the latest NFL power rankings.

The battle for supremacy is starting to get tight in some of the divisions, while in others, a couple of teams are pulling away quickly.

Week 6 NFL Power Rankings

The Minnesota Vikings and the Houston Texans enjoyed their bye week in week 6. So, here are our latest NFL power rankings after a 15-game slate that has seen quite a bit of shuffling around.

Rank 1 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-1) – rise +5

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on a roll and have taken control of the top spot in the NFC with a 5-1 record. They defeated a banged-up 49ers team in week 6, but still, a win is a win against a top team.

Rank 2 – Detroit Lions (4-2) – rise +1

The Lions may have lost in week 6, but that came against the Kansas City Chiefs. Detroit was also hit with the injury bug, especially in its secondary, making things all the more difficult.

Rank 3 – Green Bay Packers (3-1-1) – rise +1

The Green Bay Packers are back to winning ways after an 11-point win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Granted, the Bengals are without Joe Burrow, and veteran Joe Flacco played his debut game under center, but with a 3-1-1 record, they are now atop the NFC North.

Rank 4 – Philadelphia Eagles (4-2) – slide -3

After starting with 4 wins in a row, the Eagles have now lost two in a row. Their most recent loss was more shocking, considering it came against the struggling Giants. The offense is not clicking despite the immense talent on the roster, and even though they remain on top in the NFC East, the Eagles need to figure things out quickly.

Rank 5 – Buffalo Bills (4-2) – slide -3

The Buffalo Bills, like the Eagles, started 4-0 and have dropped their last two games as well. They are now second in the AFC East after the Patriots won against the Saints to take the top spot.

Rank 6 – Indianapolis Colts (5-1) – rise +3

The Colts are on a dream run, 6 weeks into the new season. With 5 wins, they have found their recipe for success. Quarterback Daniel Jones is having the season of his career, while running back Jonathan Taylor leads all with the most rushing yards (603) and touchdowns (7).

Rank 7 – San Francisco 49ers (4-2) – slide -2

The 49ers are struggling massively with injury problems on both sides of the ball. In week 6, linebacker Fred Warner became the latest casualty, and he will miss the remainder of the season with a broken ankle. Despite the major setbacks, the 49ers are still 4-2, but the loss against the Bucs hurt their ranking.

Rank 8 – Los Angeles Rams – (4-2) – no change

The Rams won against the Ravens in week 6. Normally, this would be a huge win, but considering Baltimore’s struggles this year, the win doesn’t help the Rams’ cause too much.

Rank 9 – Los Angeles Chargers – (4-2) – slide -2

The Chargers started the season very strongly with 3 wins in a row, but since then, they have regressed. They lost the next two before beating the Dolphins in week 6. However, Miami is no longer a strong team at the moment.

Rank 10 – Kansas City Chiefs – (3-3) – rise +1

Kansas City had a tough week 6 game against the Detroit Lions. But, good play on both sides of the ball, coupled with the Lions’ defensive injury problems, helped the Chiefs pull off a 30-17 win.

Rank 11 – Seattle Seahawks – (4-2) – rise +3

Seattle had a difficult week 6 matchup against the Jaguars on the road. Despite being slight underdogs, the Seahawks came through with a 20-12 win.

Rank 12 – Jacksonville Jaguars – (4-2) – no change

The Jaguars went up against the Seahawks after a massive win against the Chiefs the previous week. Unfortunately, though, they couldn’t repeat their performance against Seattle.

Rank 13 – Denver Broncos – (4-2) – no change

Denver had one of the easiest games on their calendar this season against the New York Jets. The Broncos should have won this game with a bigger margin, but somehow managed to escape with a 13-11 win, even though the defense didn’t allow a single touchdown.

Rank 14 – Washington Commanders – (3-3) – slide -4

The Commanders are not the same team that made it to the NFC Championship game last season. Going up against the Bears, Washington blew a lead late in the fourth quarter and has now stumbled to a 3-3 record.

Rank 15 – New England Patriots – (4-2) – rise +2

The New England Patriots are currently on a three-game win streak, and that includes a week 5 win against divisional rivals Buffalo Bills. They are at the top of the AFC East standings for the first time since 2019.

Rank 16 – Pittsburgh Steelers – (4-1) – no change

The Steelers continue to enjoy an excellent start to their season. In week 6, they outplayed divisional rivals Cleveland Browns, for a 23-9 win. Pittsburgh is 2 games ahead of the next-best team in its division.

Rank 17 – Atlanta Falcons – (3-2) – slide -2

Despite their win over the Bills in week 6, Atlanta fell 2 spots due to other teams being more consistent throughout the season. Coming off a bye week, the Falcons took advantage of the extra energy with Bijan Robinson and Drake London showing up big-time.

Rank 18 – Minnesota Vikings – (3-2) – no change

The Minnesota Vikings had their bye week and did not play in week 6. They remain at the number 18 spot for now.

Rank 19 – Dallas Cowboys – (2-3-1) – no change

The Cowboys lost yet another game, this time to the Carolina Panthers. Dak Prescott may be playing well this season, but he doesn’t have a decent enough defense to help him out.

Rank 20 – Chicago Bears – (3-2) – rise +4

With three consecutive wins and the last one coming against the Commanders, the Chicago Bears come up 4 spots to enter the top 20.

Rank 21 – Carolina Panthers – (3-3) – rise +5

The Panthers surprisingly find themselves quite high on the list. But after 2 weeks of dominance by running back Rico Dowdle, they deserve to occupy the number 21 spot in the latest NFL power rankings.

Rank 22 – New York Giants – (2-4) – rise +6

A big rise for the Giants after demolishing the Philadelphia Eagles on prime-time television on Thursday Night Football (TNF). On paper, it was a mismatch with the Giants as underdogs, but a stunning effort from Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo ensured they left the game with a big win.

Rank 23 – Baltimore Ravens – (1-5) – slide -3

Slowly and steadily, this is becoming a season to forget for the Baltimore Ravens. Another loss, this time to the Rams in week 6, means they are now 1-5 and face an uphill battle for the rest of the season.

Rank 24 – Arizona Cardinals – (2-4) – slide -3

The Arizona Cardinals started with 2 wins from their first two games, but have lost their next four. Languishing at the bottom of the NFC West, Arizona slips 3 spots to occupy 24th place in the latest NFL power rankings.

Rank 25 – Cincinnati Bengals – (2-4) – slide -3

Cincinnati traded for veteran quarterback Joe Flacco last week and immediately put him under center for their game against the Green Bay Packers. It made no difference whatsoever, though, as the Bengals still lost by 11 points.

Rank 26 – Houston Texans – (2-3) – slide -3

The Houston Texans were the second team to have their bye week. They fell three places as some teams below them won in week 6.

Rank 27 – Las Vegas Raiders – (2-4) – no change

The Las Vegas Raiders won their second game of the season and are now 2-4 after week 6. But the win came against the Tennessee Titans, so it makes no difference to their rank this week.

Rank 28 – Cleveland Browns – (1-5) – slide -3

Cleveland traded away Joe Flacco and handed the reins of the offense to rookie Dillon Gabriel. In his second start with the Browns, Gabriel led the team to a second loss. At 1-5, the Browns have nothing to look forward to, even though they have a top defense on their side.

Rank 29 – Miami Dolphins – (1-5) – no change

The Miami Dolphins continue to lose games. Their week 6 loss came against the Chargers, and it is now getting to the point where head coach Mike McDaniel is on borrowed time.

Rank 30 – New Orleans Saints – (1-5) – no change

The Saints were up against the Patriots, but they slumped to their fifth loss of the season after winning their only game the previous week.

Rank 31 – Tennessee Titans – (1-5) – no change

Tennessee also fell to 1-5 after a loss to the Raiders in week 6. Apart from a win over the Cardinals in week 6, nothing else has been going right for them.

Rank 32 – New York Jets  – (0-6) – no change

The Jets remain the only winless team through 6 weeks of football. They had a chance against the Broncos, holding Denver to just 13 points. Unfortunately, the offense couldn’t execute beyond three field goals. A safety added 2 points to the score, but they still ended up losing 11-13.

That brings us to the end of week 6 NFL power rankings. This week saw many teams jostle their positions. It will be intriguing to see what week 7 has in store for us. The next round of games will commence with the Bengals taking on the Steelers on Thursday Night Football.
