Training camp setback for the Dolphins and Ravens
Injuries during training camp and preseason are one of the worst possible ways for players to deal with, as they not only hamper their development, but can even end their season before it even begins.
The latest scoop from the NFL brings injury updates from the Miami Dolphins and the Baltimore Ravens training camps as key players have been dealt a huge blow with the preseason commencing in just a little over a week’s time.
The Miami Dolphins are in serious trouble following a knee injury to cornerback Kader Kohou, which supposedly took place during practice on Saturday. Reports indicate that the 26-year-old suffered a partial ACL tear and will require surgery, and is set to miss the entire season.

Earlier, his injury was suspected to be day-to-day, but upon further revelation, it was concluded that he would require surgery, ending any hopes of playing this year at all.
This comes as a significant blow for the Dolphins, who are taking the field in a completely new-look secondary after Kohou was the only returning starter from last season. Kohou’s injury is even more of a setback as he had earned the starting nickel corner role through his performances.
The Dolphins received further bad news when starting safety Ashtyn Davis went down during practice on Tuesday. Davis suffered a left leg injury, following which he walked off the field on crutches and his leg in a walking boot.
Thankfully, though, the injury is not as severe as perceived, and he should be able to play before too long. On a side note, the Dolphins’ secondary has undergone quite a bit of change from last season, as none of the starters are on the roster now.

Cornerback Jalen Ramsey was traded to the Steelers in exchange for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Another corner, Kendall Fuller, was released, while Kohou is now out for the season. Safety Jevon Holland left in free agency, while other safety Jordan Poyer is still a free agent.
In other news, the Baltimore Ravens have also been hit with an injury scare to tight end Isaiah Likely. The 25-year-old reportedly suffered a broken foot on the last play of practice on Tuesday, July 29.
#Ravens standout TE Isaiah Likely will have surgery this week to fix a broken bone in his foot, sources say. The belief is he’s out about 6 weeks, though depending on the outcome it could be fewer.

Likely was seen carted off the field following the injury, which took place during a one-on-one rep with safety Sanoussi Kane as per ‘The Athletic’. Despite the setback, the Ravens received good news as Likely was reported to be undergoing surgery sometime later, and the recovery period for him is estimated to be six weeks.
That said, although the Ravens’ number two tight end will miss the entirety of the preseason, there is still a possibility that he may return for Baltimore’s week 1 clash against the Buffalo Bills if all goes well.
It is going to be a nerve-wracking final few weeks before the start of the regular season. Training camps are in full gear, with padded practices, and that will be followed by the preseason. The hope is that all players come out healthy, as nobody likes to miss an entire NFL season due to an injury that takes place in practice or non-essential games.
