NFL's Thanksgiving Thursday ends with the Bengals taking down the Ravens in Joe Burrow's return game

Thanksgiving Thursday got off to an exciting start as the Detroit Lions hosted their traditional game with this season’s opponents being the Green Bay Packers. This was the first of the three games on the day.

The Lions’ game was followed by the late afternoon matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs. The final game featured the Baltimore Ravens hosting the Cincinnati Bengals, bringing the curtain down on yet another eventful Thanksgiving NFL day.

Jordan Love Impresses with 4-Touchdown Game to Down the Lions

The first game on Thanksgiving Day came to an end with the Packers coming out on top 31-24. The game started out slowly, with the first quarter producing just 3 points via a Packers’ field goal.

However, things picked up in the second quarter with both teams trading a pair of touchdowns each. Green Bay took a 17-14 lead into halftime, but came out firing in the third quarter, outscoring the Lions 14-10.

Jordan Love had an outstanding day with 234 passing yards and 4 touchdowns, while Josh Jacobs had 83 yards on the ground from 17 carries. The wide receiving duo of Dontayvion Wicks and Christian Watson was also impressive. Wicks finished with 6 receptions for 94 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Watson had 4 catches for 80 yards and a touchdown. On defense, Micah Parsons had 2.5 of the Packers’ 3 sacks.

Jared Goff also had a decent outing, finishing with 20 completions from 26 attempts for 256 yards and a couple of touchdowns, while Jameson Williams had a huge game with 7 receptions for 144 yards and a touchdown.

Cowboys Keep Postseason Hopes Alive with Win Over the Chiefs

The game between the Cowboys and the Chiefs was a critical one at this point in the season, as both teams needed a win to enhance their chances of getting into the playoffs. Despite the Chiefs’ best efforts to come back from a ten-point deficit in the fourth quarter, the Cowboys managed to hold on for a hard-fought 31-28 win.

Dak Prescott threw for 320 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a pick, while CeeDee Lamb had a big game with 7 catches for 112 yards and a touchdown. George Pickens also put in another strong performance with 6 receptions for 88 yards. Jadeveon Clowney had 2 sacks on defense.

As for Kansas City, Patrick Mahomes was exceptional with 261 yards and 4 touchdowns. Rashee Rice was the best receiver on the day for KC, finishing with 92 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Chiefs received 10 penalties for 119 yards, putting them on the back foot

Bengals Defense Finally Shows Up Forcing 5 Ravens Turnovers

Another game that could have implications on the postseason was the final game of Thanksgiving Day. The Cincinnati Bengals marched into Baltimore for the Thursday night game and ran away with a massive 32-14 win.

The Bengals’ defense, which has been atrocious throughout the year, stepped up in a big way, causing all sorts of problems for Lamar Jackson. The continuous defensive pressure got to Jackson, who had 3 turnovers, including a couple of fumbles and an interception, while the Ravens as a whole lost 4 fumbles.

The other big talking point was the return of quarterback Joe Burrow for the Bengals. Burrow had a decent game, especially considering he missed 9 games of the season. The Bengals’ signal caller finished with 261 yards and 2 touchdown passes, while Ja’Marr Chase had 110 receiving yards from 7 receptions.

Thanksgiving weekend continues today with the Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Chicago Bears in the Black Friday game. The battle for the playoff seeding and wild card spots is heating up, and both teams will need to bring out their best performances as they look to apply pressure on the Rams, who are currently in control of the top seed in the NFC.
