NFL 2025–26 Week 13 Playoff Chances and Odds for All Teams – Patriots Snatch AFC Top Seed and Rams Overtake Eagles in the NFC

Devavrat Kulkarni

After the Giants in Week 12, more teams could be eliminated from playoff contention in Week 13!

The Denver Broncos had their bye week last week, but that came at a price. The New England Patriots won their 10th game of the season, and in doing so, they now hold the top seed in the AFC.

Over in the NFC, the Rams continue to impress and are on a 6-game win streak. Coupled with the Eagles losing to the Cowboys in Week 12, the Rams now hold the number one seed in the NFC.

Along with the Broncos, the Chargers, Dolphins, and Commanders all had bye weeks in Week 12 of the 2025-26 NFL season. But the 14 games from last week have caused some changes to the NFL playoff chances and odds of teams.

That said, here are the playoff chances for all teams ahead of Week 13 as per the official NFL website.

NFL 2025–26 Teams to Make the Playoffs As per Current Standings

Starting with the AFC side of things, the Patriots now hold a 99% chance of making it to the playoffs. They are now closely followed by the Broncos and the Bills. Interestingly, the Colts’ loss to the Chiefs has them with the fourth-best chance of progressing to the postseason.

The Ravens are the best team in the AFC North at the moment, but they hold just a 69% chance of progressing, while the Jaguars and Chargers are the remaining teams that are currently in the postseason if the season ended today.

Over to the NFC, the Rams’ win over the Buccaneers and the Eagles’ loss to the Cowboys meant that the two teams have swapped places at the top of the conference. Irrespective of the swap, both teams hold a 99% chance of going to the postseason.

The Seahawks and the 49ers are next with 91% and 86% chance for progression, making it three teams from the NFC West. The current NFC South leaders, Tampa Bay, have an 83% chance, while the Packers have a 78% chance of progressing, which is much more than the NFC North leaders, the Chicago Bears.

AFC Teams in Contention for the Wild Card Spots

Last week, the Houston Texans and the Kansas City Chiefs were in contention to make the playoffs along with the Baltimore Ravens. The Texans and the Chiefs both won, which means they remain in the hunt for the moment.

The Ravens also won and moved to 6-5 on the year, but with the Steelers losing to the Bears, they are also 6-5 now. With that loss, the Ravens have taken over the AFC North, and that means the Steelers are now on the outside looking in.

The table below represents the AFC teams still in contention ahead of Week 13, with odds sourced by FanDuel.

NFC Teams in Contention for the Wild Card Spots

As far as the NFC is concerned, nothing has changed here despite the Week 12 results. The Lions won last week but remain one spot away from the playoffs, while the Panthers lost and now face a tougher path if they are to make it to the postseason.

The table below represents the NFC teams still in contention ahead of Week 13, with odds sourced by FanDuel.

Teams Nearly out of Playoff Contention

A number of teams from both conferences are close to being eliminated from playoff contention as we head into Week 13 of the 2025-26 NFL season. As a matter of fact, for most of these teams, it would take a miracle of sorts for them to progress past the regular season.

The table below represents the AFC teams nearly out of the playoffs ahead of Week 13.

Teams Completely Out of Playoff Contention

The New York Giants became the first and only team currently to be completely out of the playoffs for the 2025-26 NFL season after their Week 12 loss to the Detroit Lions. The Giants presently hold a 2-10 record and have no way to make the postseason, even if they win out the rest of their games.

I am a content writer for the NFL team, and joined The Playoffs after working with Sportskeeda and NFL Analysis as an NFL writer. After starting my professional career as a French-to-English translator, working as a content writer is a new adventure for me. I started out in the sports media field for two main reasons: my love for sports in general, especially the NFL, NBA, and Tennis, as well as my passion for writing. The best part of this job is that I get to write a variety of pieces with the freedom to explore content from various angles. It also enables me to stay up to date with the sporting world, which otherwise can be difficult to do in the day-to-day grind. In a world full of chaos, sports unite and entertain like nothing else!
