Newcastle United is trying to escalate things on the recruitment front and has reportedly bid on Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga. Eddie Howe and his side interested in the right-winger have offered around £55 million for Elanga as per the latest update.

Elanga had a breakout year in Nottingham Forest’s dream season as they finished seventh on the PL table. Being Forest’s highest goal contributor of the season, the Swedish International might look for a new home in the coming season.

Personal Terms Nearing Agreement for Newcastle and Elanga

Newcastle had a limited depth on the right side of the pitch throughout the last season. With Jacob Murphy having most of the weight on his shoulders, Howe could use another right-wing attacking wing at his disposal.

According to the latest reports from Fabrizio Romano, both parties are keen on closing in on the signing of Elanga to Newcastle. The Magpies are positive that their £55 million bid is getting accepted as the former Manchester United man is set to join Newcastle.

Following a rejected £45m offer in June, Newcastle have increased its efforts. With negotiations now well underway and the club pushing hard to finalise the deal, personal terms are close to being agreed.

Newcastle who qualified for the Champions League 2025/26 season will need the depth to challenge some of the European greats. The addition of Elanga could bring in the quality given his experience and recent run in the English top-flight.

Nottingham is set to make a profitable sum from Elanga after buying him for just under £15 million in 2023. Making over 70 Premier League appearances for Nottingham over two seasons, Elanga is not set to for higher levels as some of the top clubs sought him for the coming campaign.
