The New York Liberty face another uphill challenge against the consistent Seattle Storm. Liberty’s recent inconsistency has seen them slip from their top spot in the WNBA league standings.

New York won their previous game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday. The game began evenly, with both teams trading baskets in a tight opening stretch. However, the Sparks took a small lead by the end of the first half.

Liberty turned the tide in the third quarter, outscoring the Sparks 32-18 to gain a commanding lead heading into the final frame. The home side and the Los Angeles Sparks levelled out again in the end with 20 points, but Liberty had the last laugh with an 89-79 win.

The Seattle Storm nearly lost the game in Atlanta after the home side put up a tough outing. The match went till the last second, with the visitors coming out as victorious with an 80-79 scoreline against the Dream. Nneka Ogwumike’s 24 and Erica Wheeler’s clutch 21 kept Seattle’s win streak alive in dramatic fashion.
