WNBA Injury Report and Predicted Starting Lineups New York Liberty vs Minnesota Lynx- Injury Updates Ahead of Last Regular Season Clash Between Liberty and Lynx

Garima Ranawat

The Lynx and the Liberty are set to lock horns for one last time in 2025 WNBA regular season.

The New York Liberty are once again set to lock horns with their arch-rivals, Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday, August 19, at Barclays Center. The last time they locked horns, the Lynx recorded an 86-80 win over their rivals, and extended their winning streak to 3-0. They would want to continue dominating them, whereas the reigning champions would want to record their first win of the season against the 2024 WNBA finalists.

The Liberty and the Lynx are the top two teams of the season, and like their previous clashes, fans can expect thrill and entertainment in the upcoming meeting. Coming back to their previous match up, the intense contest saw Courtney Williams leading the Lynx with 26 points, five rebounds, and five assists while Kayla McBride and Jessica Shepard dropped 17 points, each. The win pushed the Lynx’s tally to 28-5 this season.

On the other hand, the New York Liberty had a total of six players finishing in double digits. However, none of them could manage to reach or cross the 20-point mark. As the Liberty suffered their 13th defeat of the season, they would want to avoid any more losses, and take down the Lynx, who have already registered their playoff berth.

Having said that, let’s see how the injury reports for both teams look like ahead of their final regular season matchup against each other.

The Liberty have listed a total of three players as out for their Tuesday-night encounter against the Lynx. Nyara Sabally is out with a knee injury, while Isabelle Harrison misses the game due to concussion protocol. Breanna Stewart is also out with a knee injury, but she participated in Monday’s practice session, as reported by Myles Ehrlich of Winsidr.com.

Minnesota Lynx Injury

Napheesa Collier- Doubtful (Ankle)

Napheesa Collier has been listed as doubtful for the clash against the Liberty due to an ankle injury. In case she remains out then this would be the fifth consecutive game that Collier would be out of. As the Lynx have already booked their playoff spot, they might want their leading scorer to rest well and come back stronger in the playoffs.
