The New York Liberty will welcome the Chicago Sky at Barclays Center on Thursday, August 21. This would be the third time both teams will come against each other in the ongoing 2025 WNBA season. In their previous two meetings, the Liberty recorded dominating wins over the Sky, who are struggling in the bottom-second spot of the standings. Though the Sky would want to turn the tables this time and record their first win over the reigning champions, it looks like a highly unlikely scenario.

Chicago would enter the game on the back of a five-game losing streak. In their most recent match-up, they suffered a 94-88 defeat to the Seattle Storm. It pushed their tally to 8-26. New York, on the flip side, registered their first win of the season over the Minnesota Lynx in their previous match up. The victory pushed their tally to 3-1 over the 2024 WNBA finalists. The Liberty have already been a dominating team in the season, and their latest win boosts their confidence.
