The Knicks are back to their winning ways
The Knicks will come into this game after a 10-point win against the Denver Nuggets despite a 30-point performance by Jalen Brunson. They have won five in a row, which has helped them recover to a 9-6 record in January. Karl-Anthony Towns has been an incredible addition to the squad and they certainly look more imposing than the last season. Jalen Brunson has led the team brilliantly whereas Josh Hart has been an energy bunny in multiple areas. The forward duo of Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby has gelled perfectly and the Knicks are a juggernaut on both ends.
The Lakers are back in business but….
The Lakers enter the match after a dominating 34-point win against the Washington Wizards as LeBron James hauled in 24 points and 10 rebounds. The Lakers have won seven out of the last nine games and the biggest difference has been a much better effort against quality teams. The acquisition of Dorian-Finney Smith and the return of Jarred Vanderbilt has given immense defensive flexibility and the team has shown promising defensive stretches even without Anthony Davis. However, AD wants a strong Center to ease his burden. Will the Lakers fulfill his need through Myles Turner and push hard for a top-four position in the West? However, Davis’ injury can derail their season again.

Both teams have been in tremendous form lately but the Knicks will have an edge here because the Lakers will be without Davis. Who will contain the domineering Karl-Anthony Towns in his absence? This match-up advantage for the Knicks can be the difference. The total here can be in the 220-230 points range but the under 225 points mark is more probable. KAT can explode for 30+ points and 15+ rebounds performance here.

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
