The Knicks have been stellar
The Knicks will come into this contest after a 6-point win against the Toronto Raptors as Karl Anthony-Towns erupted for 20 points and 20 rebounds. They have won two in a row and seven of their last eight games. Jalen Brunson has been one of the best scorers in the league whereas his pairing with Karl-Anthony Towns has elevated the Knicks offense. The offensive depth also boasts of OG Anunoby, Josh Hart, and Mikal Bridges, enabling them to put up 117.9 points per game(4th). Their defense is also impressive with the aforementioned trio hustling throughout the game.
The Celtics are not playing like last season
The Celtics will come into this game after a 7-point loss against the Dallas Mavericks. It was a highly disappointing loss against the Mavs who were without Anthony Davis. They had a brilliant offensive balance but it was arguably their worst defensive performance of the season. Their offense has focused too much on the three-ball(48.3 three-point attempts per game [1st]), but lately, they have relied a little less on the long ball, because of which they have won four out of their last five games. Overall, the Celtics aren’t receiving ample production from Jrue Holiday as a starter which has taken some hit on their scoring.

The Knicks are doing a great job at home but their winning spell will be tested by the defending champs. However as good as the Celts have been on the road, they lack the killer instinct that brought them the 2024 title. Overall, while I favor the Knicks here, it is not a safe pick against Tatum and Co. At any rate, placing a stake on the Total may be a better approach, and I see the points tally going past 230.

nba Hi, I am Shubham. I am currently an NBA Predictions Writer on The Playoffs. I enjoy this job because it helps keep me in the loop about the game I love while fulfilling the pleasure I derive from stats. I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
