New York Knicks vs Atlanta Hawks Preview

The Knicks have a lot of promise

The Knicks come into this game after suffering a 17-point loss against the Minnesota Timberwolves despite a 26-point performance by Jalen Brunson. They have now lost six of their last nine games, which has hurt their chance at securing the second spot in the East. Their defense has crumbled and the top-heavy rotation by coach Tom Thibodeau is struggling to keep the high-quality play intact. It seems that the team needs their big man Mitchell Robinson back to get tougher in the frontline.

The Hawks have done well lately

The Hawks enter the contest after a four-point Overtime win against the Boston Celtics as Trae Young had a stellar 28-point and 11-assist outing. They are now on a three-game winning streak which has helped wash off a lean 1-4 run to begin the year. Young has been playing like an MVP, whereas two-way guard Dyson Daniels is evolving into a solid backcourt mate. The move to bring De’Andre Hunter and Onyeka Okongwu has given them depth but they haven’t proven they can sustain terrific momentum against elite squads.

New York Knicks vs Atlanta Hawks– Final Prediction and Additional Information

The Knicks are wasting away the lengthy home-court advantage they have enjoyed recently. Meanwhile, the Hawks have done well away from home. However, the Knicks will probably come out with a flurry against a team that can be a bit lax on the defensive end. This is why they may be able to manage a 5+ points win here. The total can be over 224 points but may not go over 235 points. Karl-Anthony Towns will probably return here after missing the Wolves tilt and can end up with a 25+ points outing. Meanwhile, Trae Young may be held under 20 points here as much as he loves lighting up the MSG.

I got into NBA writing through social media interactions in the mid-2010s as I shared my takes on young talents such as D’Angelo Russell. I hope you enjoy reading my pieces as much as Dennis Rodman loved rebounding the basketball!
