The New York Knicks made it to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in 25 years as they took down the reigning champions, Boston Celtics in the conference semifinals. The Knicks are now clashing against the Indiana Pacers, who came off a 4-1 win over the conference toppers, Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Knicks finished the regular season with a 51-31 record, which helped them book the third seed in the East. They kicked off their NBA Playoffs 2025 campaign by taking down the Detroit Pistons 4-1 and earned a berth against the Boston Celtics in the semifinals. After pulling off an upset over the defending champions, the Knicks are now ready for their first conference finals appearance since 2000.

In the ongoing series, the Knicks are currently trailing their fourth-seeded counterparts 0-2. However, the series is not over yet and the Knicks must do due work to make a comeback before their season slips away,. The New York Knicks have been to 46 postseasons so far out of their 79 seasons in the NBA. Out of those postseasons, the Knicks have been to 15 Conference finals (including seven division finals). The first time they made it to the 1949 Eastern Division Finals, but ended up losing 2-1 to the Washington Capitols.

How Many NBA Finals Appearances Do the Knicks Have?

The New York Knicks have been to a total of eight NBA Finals appearances. The first time they made it to the summit clash was in 1951, and following that, they made a trip to the final round in 1952, 1953, 1970, 1972, 1973, 1994 and 1999.

Out of those years, they went on to lift the championship trophy twice, in 1970 and 1973.
