The NBA has come up with a new format for All-Star Game 2025.
The NBA All-Star Weekend kicked off on February 14, 2024 with some of the most exciting events. On the first day of the three-day extravaganza, fans saw celebrities stepping on the court for the Ruffles All-Star Celebrity Game.
Later in the day, Team C and Team G League locked horns for the Rising Star Championship, which saw team C advancing to Sunday’s second semifinal against Shaq’s OGs.
On the third and the final day, 24 NBA All-Stars will go against each other in three matches, including the NBA All-Star Championships.
However, ahead of the game, the NBA will be in conversation with the 24 All-Stars for this season. As per a report by Chris Haynes, nothing is official, but the meeting would be around the importance of effort and competitiveness. Notably, the NBA is experimenting with a new format this year with the aim to bring more engagement among fans and competitiveness among the players.
Chris, on X, wrote, “Sources: The league and players union to meet together with players on Sunday prior to All-Star Game to highly stress the importance of competing for fans and for the business.”
Notably, engagement and entertainment factors in the recent All-Star Games have dropped severely and fans have time and again criticized the league as well as the players involved for their lack of effort. While the NBA has tried to come up with a few fixes, it aims to talk to the players to stress on why it is important to put on a thrilling show for the viewers.
