After the conclusion of Game 4, the Nuggets-Clippers series is tied 2-2.
Los Angeles Clippers’ shooting guard James Harden and Denver Nuggets star center Nikola Jokic were among the six players who received technical foul during Game 4. The Clippers hosted the Nuggets for Game 4 of the first-round NBA Playoffs 2025 series. Having home court advantage as well as a 2-1 lead, the Clippers were aiming to extend the streak whereas the Nuggets aimed to even the series.
However, things got heated up before halftime when both teams engaged in a heated brawl. It involved players like Harden, Norman Powell, Kris Dunn, Aaron Gordon, Nikola Jokic, and Christian Braun. With final seconds remaining in the first half, Harden was dribbling to the basket when Braun reached it. He seemingly bothered Harden, leading to an altercation between both the players.
However, the Joker and Ivica Zubac joined the skirmish and within no time, both teams got involved. Harden and Gordon shoved each other, and the latter was pulled out of the brawl. The officials spared no time and awarded six technical fouls to the players. Thankfully for both the teams, there were no ejections and the game resumed from there, with the Nuggets heading into the locker room with a 50-48 lead.
In the final seconds of the game, Nikola Jokic attempted a turnaround 3-pointer from the right side over Ivica Zubac when the score was tied 99-99. Gordon flew in and caught the ball to throw it through the rim and released it in a fraction of a second before the buzzer. Following a review, the shot was counted, leading Nuggets to a 101-99 win and leveling the series 2-2.
This marked the first game-winning, buzzer-beating dunk in the history of the league since 1998. Gordon tallied 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists. The Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokic who tallied 36 points, 21 rebounds, and 8 assists. The Joker was shooting 14-of-25 from the field and 3-of-6 from the three-point range in 43 minutes of action. With this, he has become one of the four players in the history of the league to tally 35/20/8 in a playoff game.
On the other hand, Kawhi Leonard led the Clippers with 24 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Norman Powell came up with 22 points, four rebounds, and one assist whereas Ivica Zubac tallied 15 points, four rebounds, and 11 assists. James Harden finished with 15 points, four rebounds, and 11 assists.
The Nuggets and the Clippers series was already viewed as the best series in the first round, and it hasn’t disappointed so far. Both teams are evenly matched and in Game 5, they will head back to Ball Arena in Denver on Tuesday, April 29.
