Nikola Jokic stars as Denver Nuggets hand OKC their first defeat
Nikola Jokic has earned our MVP of the Day. He led the Denver Nuggets to a victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night.
On a night when the Nuggets walked into the game as massive underdogs against the undefeated Thunder, Jokic helped his team with 23 points, 16 assists, and 20 rebounds. It is worth noting that a number of players scored more points than Jokic.
While LeBron James scored 39 points against Memphis Grizzlies, Karl-Anthony Towns scored 34, and J. Williams scored 29 points, all of them came in losing causes. Given the pressure and importance of the game, Jokic’s performance cannot be understated.

He was lively from the very first round after going behind in the first half and helped his team to come back. As a result, the Nuggets edged out the Thunder by 2 points and secured a 124-122 victory.
Despite having an average start to the season, the Denver Nuggets currently stand 5-3 in the league. With their latest victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Nuggets have certainly put the league under notice.
Their star man Nikola Jokic is once again putting up impressive numbers for the Nugget. He is averaging 28.8 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 11 assists, that’s a triple-double every game. While he may not have found his groove completely, these are still extremely impressive numbers.

The Denver Nuggets are now set to host the Miami Heat on Friday night. Coming off an impressive performance against the Thunder, it will be interesting to see how the Nuggets and Jokic perform against the Heat.
