The Orlando Magic’s woes continued with a defeat at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks, marking their third straight loss. The team’s offensive struggles were evident as they managed to convert only eight of their 41 attempts from three-point range, contributing to their lowest scoring output of the season.
Compounding their challenges, the Magic are currently without All-Star forward Paolo Banchero, who is out due to a torn right oblique and is projected to be sidelined for at least the next four weeks. This absence has left a noticeable gap in their offensive capabilities, as the team shot just 33.3% from the field overall and a mere 19.5% from beyond the arc.
Franz Wagner led the Magic in scoring with only 13 points, a stark contrast to their typical performance, which averages 111.7 points per game. The team’s struggles have raised concerns about their ability to regain momentum in Banchero’s absence as they look to find their rhythm again.
The Magic are set to visit the Thunder on Monday, coinciding with the Mavericks hosting the Pacers. This matchup reunites Dallas with former head coach Rick Carlisle. He led the franchise to its only NBA championship in 2011.
