Action has come down to Game 7 in the 2025 NBA Finals.
The action in the 2024-25 NBA season has gotten down to its final stage. We are just one game away from seeing a new team lifting the title and etching their name into the history books. The Oklahoma City Thunder will host their underdog rivals, Indiana Pacers at Paycom Center on Sunday, June 22. A win for the Thunder would end their 46-year drought and add their second title in their cabinet. On the other hand, a victory for the Pacers would give them their first ever Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.

Notably, this would be the first NBA Finals in nine years. The last time the finals series went the distance was in 2016, when the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors to lift their first and the only title. So far, only 19 Game 7 have been played in the finals series, and the 20th game will see the Thunder locking horns with the Pacers.
Here, we are going back in history and looking at the previously played Game 7 in the NBA Finals series. So, without any ado, let’s dive in.
The Golden State Warriors were leading the series 3-1 and were just one victory away when the Cleveland Cavaliers came from behind and went on to claim the title. This was the first time a team overcame a 3-1 deficit in the Finals.
