Here’s the NBA Daily Recap for Dec. 9, 2024, where we had only one matchup. Toronto Raptors entered the fixture back off a worst NBA record and the Knicks needed consistency ahead of the NBA Cup quarterfinals.

Karl-Anthony Towns scored 24 points and 15 rebounds, while Jalen Brunson added 20 points and 11 assists to help the New York Knicks beat the Toronto Raptors 113-108. Mikal Bridges chipped in 23 points while OG Anunoby had 14 points against his former team.

Karl-Anthony Towns’ clutch triple assured win for Knicks

It was a toe-to-toe contest between the Raptors and the Knicks. Both sides outscored each other in the first two quarters as the Knicks had a lead in the opening quarter and the Raptors had it in the second. Toronto had a 3-point lead heading into the final quarter but Karl-Anthony Towns made a difference in the clutch time.

Karl-Anthony Towns assisted Jalen Brunson in making a 3-point jumper to tie the game at 104. To break the next tie at 108, Brunson assisted Towns in scoring a layup. Karl-Anthony Towns, who made only one of his first four attempts from long range, scored a 29-foot three-point jumper to finish the game for New York.

Knicks secured their fifth win in six games to go 15-9 in the West. RJ Barrett led Toronto with 30 points, and Jakob Poeltl added 10 points and 12 rebounds. Barnes’ injury hurt the Raptors who posted a 3-18 worst record this season including a 16-game losing streak which was ended in the NBA Cup last week. Barnes scored 15 points in 23 minutes before exiting.
