It is a loaded slate of NBA games today. The defending champs, the Boston Celtics, will look to continue their exceptional form as they visit the Orlando Magic for Game 3 in the NBA Playoffs’ First Round.
The Milwaukee Bucks will hope to open their account against the surging Indiana Pacers. To round it off, the marquee match-up between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Lakers, with the series knotted at one apiece.

The Boston Celtics won Game 2 by 9 points after a commanding 17-point win in Game 1. Are the Orlando Magic figuring out the Celtics? One huge reason why the identical odds are set around the spread of -4.5 is the doubts about Celtics wing Jayson Tatum. They can suffer on the offensive end without him, espescially with the thinned-down production of Jrue Holiday.
However, don’t forget the 36-point outburst by Jaylen Brown in the last game. The Celts are 1-1 against the spread in the series thus far, and the Magic managed to bring the loss in single digits. You’d fancy they will trim the margin on their home floor.
But I believe the Celtics will go for the kill whether Tatum plays or not. I expect Jaylen Brown and Derrick White to have a big night. Thus, a -6.5 spread in the Celts’ favor is set slightly against the market perception, but makes sense to me considering how the team can deploy an all-out offense even without their offensive leader.
Antetokounmpo has been on fire during the postseason. He scored 34 points in Game 2 after a 36-point performance in Game 1. The Bucks superstar is back on the home floor and must be hungry to avoid going down 0-3 against the Indiana Pacers.
He was the only major offensive player for the Bucks in the first two games despite the return of Damian Lillard in Game 2. I don’t see that changing in Game 3 either, and The Greek Freak can be even for a 40-point extravaganza.
Bet #3: Anthony Edwards 25.5 points (-110 at BetMGM)
Ant-Man has been restricted to under 25.5 points in the first two meetings against the Los Angeles Lakers. Thus, it has been risky going for an “over” mark for the sharpshooter. He has attempted 22 shots in both games but has attempted only 6 free throws (making 5).
He is now due one of his special nights as the Minnesota Timberwolves return to their home floor. During the Regular Season, he interestingly averaged 29 PPG on the road and 26.1 PPG at home. But come on, it’s playoff time, and Edwards should have a big night in his kitty.
Summarize the bets in a simple list:
Bookmakers pay close attention while assigning odds. Often, there is a temptation to put on risky bets, but the odds can hit home more often than not. But there is an area to exploit.
When betting on the spread, it is usually wise to stake on a more favorable spread towards a team like the Celtics taking on the Magic, even with their premier player out. Thus, sometimes the bookmakers may be conservative, but there is a huge potential to make big on such bets.
