NBA Analyst Predicts Victor Wembanyama Will Enter the G.O.A.T Conversation Alongside M.J and LeBron James

Eric Divakaran

When NBA Fans debate about who’s the best player to ever play the game of basketball, a lot of fans will choose Michael Jordan as their GOAT and rightfully so. 6x champion, 5x MVP, 10 scoring titles, A DPOY award, and many more. Whereas, some claim that LeBron is the GOAT, who is top-10 is most of the major statistical category. For some it’s Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain and even Bill Russell. Now, Victor Wembanyama is on a similar pace.

There are many players today who could enter that conversation in the near future. Stars like Shai Gilgeous Alexander, Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo have all won at the highest stages and still continue to dominate the league. However, San Antonio’s former No.1 overall pick, Victor Wembanyama, is in a league of his own and is starting to become one of the most complete players we’ve ever seen. And an NBA analyst believes that he’s on pace to enter the G.O.A.T conversation someday. Let’s find out more.

Kendrick Perkins Believes Victor Wembanyama’s Career Trajectory is Toward the G.O.A.T Conversation

ESPN’s NBA Analyst Kendrick Perkins had some bold and very high takes on Victory Wembanyama’s career trajectory, as he said, “15 to 20 years from now, the G.O.A.T conversation is gonna go like this; MJ, Bron, and Wemby. Those are the three names that are gonna come up in the G.O.A.T conversation. Because if this man stays healthy, he’s going to be, arguably, the best defensive player we’ve ever seen. I believe he’s going to win 5 or 6 Defensive Player of the Year awards.”

Perk continued to rave about Wemby’s performance, “Can someone tell me a flaw he has in his game right now at the age of 21? I’ll wait. You can’t tell me, cause he has none. Offensively he has the complete package. Jamal Crawford handles, we saw them in the highlight. The Pull up threes, we’ve watched him knock them down in a consistent basis. He’s excellent moving without the basketball… On top of that, he’s starting to go and capitalize in the low post area, mid post area, you could use him as a screener. There’s nothing that he can’t do.”

Victor Wembanyama is Headed for a Monstrous Year

We can confidently say that Victor Wembanyama is headed for his best season yet, as he’s averaging 31.0 points, 2.8 assists, 13.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 4.8 blocks, on an absurd 60% shooting from the field! He’s cut down on his 3-pt attempts this season and is focused much more on using his height and length to get baskets down low.

Wemby is surely headed for greatness and the San Antonio Spurs are currently 4-0 this season even without some of their key pieces like Jeremy Sochan and De’Aaron Fox. The Spurs will take on the take on the Miami Heat up next, and if they win, it will be the first time in their franchise’s history that they’ll start their season 5-0. Wemby is one pace to win the DPOY award, and is also in the MVP conversation early on.

I cover the National Football League and things cannot get better than that. I always dreamed to play football or basketball professionally since I’m built like a Running Back. But now that I can’t, since I’m technically in the “Unc” age, I thought why not pick a career in sports industry? So here I am, doing what I love, and hoping that the Commanders win the Super Bowl. I give love to players when it’s due, but can be critical about their performances at the same time. Enough about me, now let my articles do all the talking.
